Victoria Football vs Central Plains 9-2-17

Twenty-five hours to complete a game? That happens when Mother Nature decides to provide a light show during a game, in this case the Eight Man matchup between the Victoria Knights and the Central Plains Oilers.

The game kicked off at 7:00 PM on Friday evening but at the 6:15 mark in the second quarter, lighting struck close enough to the field to cause a delay. As more bolts flew through the sky, the coaches and officials decided to postpone restarting the game to 6:00 PM on Saturday.

At the appointed time, both teams came out and went through pre-game rituals and then lined up and restarted the game just like it was the previous evening with the ball near mid field and zero to zero showing on the scoreboard.

The Victoria Knights only took of two minutes from the clock before scoring the first points of the matchup. They took a 12 to 0 lead into the locker room for halftime.

The second half went similarly as the Knights piled on the points. Central Plains scored late in the game to prevent a shutout but fell to Victoria by a score of 34 to 8.

The final whistle for the game sounded at 7:55 PM Saturday evening. Almost 25 hours from when the game first kicked off.

Below are some of the pictures I took at the game:
