Salina South versus Great Bend Football 10-31-14

The regular season for Football drew to a close with the annual meeting of the Salina South Cougars and the Great Bend Panthers.

Both teams entered the game with a chance to make it into the Class 5A playoffs. The First Half was a slow affair with both teams not able to add points on to the scoreboard. With three minutes to go, Salina South scored a touchdown but missed the extra point. Great Bend quickly answered with seven points right at the end of the Half.

Great Bend extended their lead right after Halftime, and both teams traded scores until the Forth Quarter when Salina South pulled away to win with a score of 35 to 21.

Salina South will go to the playoffs next Friday night. Great Bend finishes the year with a 3-6 record.
