Great Bend Girls Swimming Invitational 4-26-19

Nine teams of swimmers went to the pool in the Kirkman Center on the campus of Barton Community College for the Great Bend Girls Swimming Invitational.

Manhattan dominated the meet winning seven of the twelve events and taking first as a team. Newton took first in the other five events but finished third in the team competition twelve points behind host Great Bend.

Plainville Girls Basketball vs Hoisington 2-5-19

The Plainville Lady Cardinals traveled to Hoisington to face the Lady Cardinals in a Tuesday evening matchup.

Plainville lead for most of the game. Hoisington would narrow the lead at times to approximately four. The hosts just never found the run to take the lead. By the final few minutes, Plainville began to extend their lead.

The game finished with the visitors on top 49 to 35.

2018 Hoisington Winter Jam Girls Championship – Otis-Bison Lady Cougars vs Russell Lady Broncos 1-20-18

The final Girls game of the 2018 Hoisington Winter Jam saw the Otis-Bison Lady Cougars pitted against the Russell Lady Broncos.

Both teams started out trading shots. At times those shots were three pointers. Otis-Bison kept within reach of Russell until the second half. After halftime, Russell’s Tiffany Dortland poured on the points and tallied a total of 30 for the night. The Lady Broncos won the game and the tournament with a score of 64 to 33.

2018 Hoisington Winter Jam Otis-Bison Lady Cougars vs LaCrosse Lady Leopards 1-19-18

A tournament can bring together familiar foes. In this case the second and last Girls Semi-Final matchup of the fourth night of the 2018 Hoisington Winter Jam pitted the Otis-Bison Lady Cougars against the LaCrosse Lady Leopards for the third time this year. Going into the game, the series stood tied at one game a piece.

Both teams played a tight game. The first quarter finished in a six all tie. It took until the fourth quarter for one team to pull away. Otis-Bison finished the night winning by a score of 29 to 23.

The Lady Cougars will face the Russell Lady Broncos for the 2018 Hoisington Winter Jam Championship on Saturday.

2018 Hoisington Winter Jam Ellinwood Lady Eagles vs Hoisington Lady Cardinals 1-18-18

Night Three of the 2018 Hoisington Winter Jam saw Consolation Bracket matchups. The Ellinwood Lady Eagles faced off against the hosts, the Hoisington Lady Cardinals.

The Lady Cardinals took control of the game early used free throws to extend their lead. When the final whistle blew, Hoisington won by a score of 46 to 19.

Hoisington Winter Jam 2018 – LaCrosse Lady Leopards vs Hoisington Lady Cardinals 1-16-18

As the evening grew later, it came time for the hosts to take the floor in the 2018 Hoisington Winter Jam. The Hoisington Lady Cardinals squared off against the LaCrosse Lady Leopards.

Throughout the game, both teams kept it fairly tight. In the fourth quarter, LaCrosse took the lead and kept it heading to a 32 to 27 final score.

Hoisington Winter Jam 2018 Pratt Lady Greenbacks vs Russell Lady Broncos 1-16-18

Snow and bitterly cold temperatures combined to postpone the first day of games in the 2018 Hoisington Winter Jam. The postponement moved the game between the Pratt Lady Greenbacks and the Russell Lady Broncos to the Hoisington High School.

Russell came out of the gate with a stifling full court press that allowed them to take a 12 to 1 lead early in the game. Russell would continue in control of the game and secured the victory.

Buhler Lady Crusaders vs Great Bend Lady Panthers 1-12-18

The Buhler Lady Crusaders traveled to Great Bend to face the Lady Panthers.

The cold temperatures outside did not cool down the Lady Panther shooters as they took a sizable lead into halftime. Great Bend did not look back on their way to a 52 to 38 victory.

Hoisington Lady Cardinals Basketball vs Central Plains Lady Oilers 12-1-17

A trip of fourteen miles took the Hoisington Lady Cardinals to officially open the 2017-2018 Basketball Season against the Central Plains Lady Oilers.

The Lady Cardinals scored the first points of the night, but quickly fell behind the Lady Oilers. Central Plains put up 88 points to Hoisington’s 23 at the end of the night. Emily Ryan contributed 45 of those points.
