McPherson versus Buhler 11-3-23

When two great rivals get together, you know a great performance will happen. This time it was a defensive performance that many will remember.

The McPherson Bullpups traveled to face the Buhler Crusaders in the Class 4A playoffs Regional round. Two weeks prior the teams met and McPherson won 28-26.

The game proved to be a defensive battle as the teams went into the locker rooms at halftime with the Bullpups leading 6-3.

In the second half, Bullpup linebacker Teegan Haines came up big. He caught his fourth interception of the night and ran it in 26 yards for a touchdown to make the score 12-3.

Late in the fourth quarter, Haines caught his fifth interception of the night at the McPherson five-yard line. He immediately got a key block. Then he was off to the other end of the field for a 95-yard interception return for a touchdown.

McPherson won the game 26-3.
