American Legion AAA State Baseball Championship Game 2 Ottawa vs Chanute 7-31-16

Five days and fifteen games later, Ottawa or Chanute stand ready to take the crown as the 2016 American Legion AAA State Baseball Champion.

The seventh time these two teams met this year started off with Ottawa plating three runs. Their defense held well as Chanute did not score until the bottom of the Fifth when they hit a two run home run. This kept the game from ending early due to a run rule.

When the final Chanute batter hit into a game ending double play, Ottawa celebrated winning the game 8 to 2 and claiming their second in a row State Championship.

This game also decide the season series in the Arrows favor four games to three.

Ottawa now advances to the Regional Tournament in Arkansas.
