Yes. I haven’t typed much on here in a while.

I know, but honestly, I wasn’t ignoring you.

Did I say appreciate, I mean feel for you.

Hmm, I see this is one of those times that no matter what I type, you’re gonna cry.

I promise, I’ll do better.

Well of course I’ve been looking at other websites.

It’s not like that, totally.

I’m looking at them so I can fully understand just how beautiful you are.

Uh, you aren’t buying that are you.

Okay, I’ll grab the pillows and sleep on the couch tonight. I just hope you’ll see things my way in the morning.

Well the Blog Spammers are at it again.

Today alone I have received about 10 e-mails telling me that I have comments to moderate.  All of those comments are not about the items I posted to the web-site.  No, those comments are spam messages from someone trying to sell drugs of some sort.

It is because of these spammers that I turned on the comment moderation.  What that means is that when you type a comment for a post, I must first approve it to be displayed.

Rest assured, I will allow valid comments, even if I don’t agree with them.

The ones I won’t are the spam comments.  These are not typed by a person, but instead inserted by a bot that is hoping to find some sucker out there to purchase the wares of the person who has enlisted them.

I have no problem with advertising.  In fact at some point, I will probably put up a Google AdWords banner on this site.  But I draw the line at spam.

So do not fear, I will do my best to defeat the spammers…I hope.

This is to serve as a warning/promise. I will be updating the look of this site within the next few days.

I am taking the ambitious step of rolling my own theme. So I will be getting my hands and arms dirty with the wonders of HTML, CSS, PHP, and all other things WordPress as I design and drop the latest incarnation of JoeyBahr.com on the World Wide Web.

I know your just filled with anticipation on this one.

I know, if you read through all of the posts on the site, you saw a few just like this. I plan to actually follow through this time.

Honestly.

Why you might ask will this time be different? Well I don’t really have a great answer. I do plan to try and write more.

What exactly I will be writing is up in the air. I want to get into authoring fiction of some nature. I might start kind of a serial story on here or another site which I will link to.

I still go back and forth on whether I want to write movies or novels or even both. I have several ideas. I just need to pick one and get to work on it and see where it goes.

So keep your eyes open for more posts and content on the site.

I don’t want to say that I am totally giving up on the political columnist gig, but since I haven’t had any takers on running my writing, I’m going to put that on hold for a while.

What I am looking to do more now is creating a small media company working on web, print, and video advertising and informaiton for small companies and possibly a few political campaigns in Kansas. This depends on how an opportunity I have been given to help a local company create a website.

So, feel free to check back and see what changes I make as I become a more confident web developer.

I will also be adding a couple sample columns as I get ready to mail out my first on to many Kansas newspapers.
