About me posting more…..

one comment

Yes, I know I haven’t been keeping up my end of the agreement. The memory key post was my first one in a while. Ok ok, ten days. (Geesh you people sure can be exacting.)

I promise I will get better at posting more. I kinda need to since I have tried my first hand at shameless plugging of my blog.

I included the URL to this blog at the end of my e-mail to MSNBC’s David Shuster. It was in response to his latest post about how the Democrats lost the election.

I will post some of my thoughts from that e-mail and other things the Democrats can do differently next time in a later post. Sorry to seem like I’m brushing you off, it is just that I have a couple of papers due for my classes in the next week or so and I need to get them done.

I promise that once I get these papers finished I will get better at posting.

I do have one request to make of you, my faithful readers. (Yes, I know assumes anyone actually reads this.) Please leave me a comment to let me know you read this blog. I would like to know that someone is actually reading this. Otherwise I get the sense I’m just peeing into the wind here. (Wonderful mental image there don’t ya think?)

Until next time,

Joey

Memory Keys RULE!!!!

leave a comment

I just wanted to pass along the coolest technology thing I have come by in a long time, the USB Memory Key.

Now some of you might be wondering just what that is. Basically it is small floppy disk on some serious steriods. Take for instance the one I got the other day is about the size of a travel finger nail clipper and it can hold 128 MB of data.

It is small enough that I carry it in my pocket with me at all times. It is great. I took it with me to the library the other day and I was able to save several journal articles I downloaded from a database as PDF quickly on the memory key. Then in seconds when I got home I had them saved on my hard disk.

They are great to have around if you have a need to move files from one computer to the next. Another use is I have loaded up a couple of files on mine that I want to make sure that can be read easily by other computers as I start to look for my next laptop. (More on the search for my next laptop later.)

Both Windows XP and Mac OS X read them with no problem at all–you just plug it in and they OS installs everything you need for you. (Even Mac OS 9 has no problems using them.) Windows 98 on the other hand needs a driver to be installed to be able to use them.

USB memory keys can be a great gift idea for Christmas. They are getting very cheap. For instance the one I got cost only $25.00. Obviously, if you want more memory, it will cost you more money.

Most of all you won’t have to worry about carrying around those old fashioned floppy disks anymore.
